 You may have heard people talk about colloidal silver and wondered, "What is colloidal silver?" The question is common, because many people are unfamiliar with this substance.
So what IS colloidal silver?
Colloidal silver is a suspension of very tiny silver particles in pure water, thought by many to heal, prevent infection, and enhance health.
Julius Caesar would not have used it, but he would have used silver itself to line his drinking vessels. In those long ago days, silver was known to have the ability to purify water.
Farmers of the 1800's and into the early 1900's probably didn't know what colloidal silver was, but they did know of silver's unique ability to keep milk fresh without refrigeration.
Physicians as recently as pre-1940 would have been able to answer you. Colloidal silver was used back then by many, if not all, physicians. Doctors used it as an effective antibiotic. In fact, they considered it very cutting edge.
Then, as the medical community expanded, new medications were developed, replacing the familiar colloidal silver. Suddenly, colloidal silver fell into disuse. People accepted the new as better, and began to refer to colloidal silver as a "quack" drug.
A minority remembered its value, though, research was resumed, and new things were learned. Colloidal silver reappeared on the market.
